For the last few years we (the changing crew aboard the ‘Drummer‘) have tried to involve ourselves in projects that keep us tied to a larger sense of community. It would be all to easy to “drop out” and “sail away”. Instead we are hoping to continue to work on projects outside the boat that take us beyond the normal realms of cruiser comfort to a better understanding of the places we visit, the people we meet and work with and all of our cultural and ecological relationships to the sea.
